In this sense, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social and Language
Documentation (CIDLeS), together with SOAS World Languages Institute and the
project FRONTESPO, cordially invites scholars working on minority and
endangered languages in the Iberian Peninsula to join us at the 2nd
International Symposium on Endangered languages and language varieties in the
Iberian Peninsula (LAPI 2019) that will take place on the 4th and 5th of July
in Lisbon, Portugal.
LAPI 2019 aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum in which scholars can
exchange methodologies and experiences of best practice on language
documentation, archiving and revitalization in the Iberian Peninsula, and
discuss issues related to language diversity, oral literature,
multilingualism, new speakerness, language technologies for lesser-used
languages, presence in the digital world, and language policy.
