Abstract:

The Georgetown Dictionary of Moroccan Arabic is the culmination of decades of
scholarly work, linguistic expertise, and pioneering dialectology. GUP
originally published a Moroccan dictionary in 1964 as separate volumes and it
has remained a classic in the field. It sold in this form for many decades
before Penn’s Linguistic Data Consortium (LDC) and GUP won a grant from the
DoE to revise and update the content using up-to-date computational linguistic
methodology. This dictionary remains one of the only Moroccan dialect
dictionaries available. It is the second GUP Arabic dialect dictionary that
LDC has revamped.
