Subject: Gender Neutral Language - Survey
Hello,
My name is Camille Meritan, I am a doctoral candidate in French and Second
Language Acquisition Teacher Education at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign (U of I). My colleague Charlotte Prieu, a doctoral candidate
in French Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (U of
I), and I are reaching out to you to participate in our study to investigate
foreign language instructors' knowledge and practices regarding gender neutral
language in the classroom. We would like to know your overall familiarity and
usage of gender-neutral language in your classroom. Your participation will
greatly be helpful to gain a deeper and richer understanding of teachers’
knowledge, experience with, and practices of gender-neutral language in the
language classroom and to improve learning and teaching environment for ALL
students in the U.S. higher education.
This survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Your
participation would be greatly appreciated and will be strictly confidential.
We will not share your identity or anything we discuss with anyone without
your permission.
If you are interested in participating, please click the link below to take
the survey:

Please contact us via genderneutralsurvey at gmail.com if you have any questions.
We would be happy to answer any additional questions that you have. Your
participation would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Camille Meritan & Charlotte Prieu
