Description:
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Tsinghua University
invites applications for one or two full-time, tenure-track positions at the
level of Assistant Professor (open to higher ranks as well), with
specialization in experimental linguistics, phonetics and phonology, or
language documentation.
We seek applicants with a good background in theoretical linguistics
(particularly formal linguistics) as well as expertise in experimental
studies, a strong commitment to the study of linguistic universals and
specifics of Chinese languages, a remarkable ability to interact and work with
linguistic researchers in other fields.
The applicants should have:
- A Ph.D. in linguistics from a well-recognized university;
- Relevant teaching/research experience with a proven record of academic
and/or professional achievements;
- A dedication to excellence in teaching and research.
The successful candidates will be required to teach a 2-2 load, with
undergraduate/graduate courses. They will also advise undergraduate and
graduate students, conduct and publish research in areas of specialization,
pursue opportunities for external funding, and perform administrative and
professional tasks as assigned.
