Meeting Description:

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary in 2019, the AUT Multimodal Research
Centre, Auckland, New Zealand is organising a special event to highlight the
impact of multimodality across various academic fields marking key theoretical
developments and their application in the current and forthcoming works. The
focus of the Multimodal Research 2019 conference is diverse application of
multimodal theory and methodology.  

The conference is hosted by Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, the
largest city of New Zealand. 

We are pleased to announce the following confirmed plenary speakers:  

JAMES WERTSCH (David R. Francis Distinguished Professor, Washington University
in St Louis, USA); 
THEO VAN LEEUWEN (Professor Emeritus, University of Technology, Sydney,
Australia); and 
SIGRID NORRIS (Professor of Multimodal (Inter)action, Auckland University of
Technology).

Established in 2009, AUT Multimodal Research Centre is the first and the only
multimodal research centre in New Zealand. The Centre is made up of
researchers at Auckland University of Technology interlinked with an extensive
national and international network. Since its foundation, the Centre has
initiated and engaged in a number of innovative and original research projects
as well as offering postgraduate supervision.

Abstract submission:

We invite (1) individual papers; 2) panels (3-4 papers); and 3) posters. All
submissions must clearly state abstract title and up to 3 nominated strands.
Proposals for both papers and posters should be up to 200 words including
references; a panel proposal should not exceed 500 words excluding references.

All abstracts will undergo a double-blind review process. Important: abstract
files should NOT contain author name(s) and affiliation(s).
