Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in a discipline offered by Stony Brook University's College of Arts
and Sciences from an accredited institution. A distinguished
national/international reputation for sustained scholarly accomplishments, and
a record of excellence in teaching, research, and service appropriate to
appointment at the tenured rank of associate or full professor at a major
research university.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Native or near-native fluency in Italian.
-Experience in community outreach.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in innovative research and have
strong potential for being able to participate in the teaching mission of the
Department they join at undergraduate and graduate levels. Applications are
encouraged from scholars with a broad knowledge of Italian American and
Italian Studies in any relevant area of the humanities, fine arts, or socials
services (e.g., history, linguistics, literature, sociology, art). The
Endowment provides funds for salary, research, conferences, colloquia, and
other scholarly activities.
