Meeting Description:
As O.P. Jindal Global University gears up to celebrate its tenth anniversary
one of our research initiatives include engagement in interdisciplinary
research. This conference along with the workshops organized by the English
Language Centre at the University will focus on an interdisciplinary approach
to teaching and learning English. The aim of this initiative is to highlight
the need for research through paper presentations on the evidence of effective
teaching practices, inculcating innovative ideas in teaching English as a
second language, panel discussions on research in English Language Teaching in
India among others.
This conference will focus on cutting edge research areas such as mobile
learning, learning English through technology, social media learning among
others. The conference will provide opportunities to practising teachers and
research scholars to share their innovative ideas through poster
presentations, group presentations and individual paper presentations. There
will also be workshops by experts from the field of Applied Linguistics to
offer deeper insights into the current research trends in English Language
teaching and Learning.
Call for Papers:
Call for proposals Individual paper presentations, Group paper presentations
and poster presentations
Call for proposals for workshop on teaching English through poetry, fiction
writing and critiquing, folk music and its etymology contemporary short play
or classical drama
Areas to be covered in the conference are but not limited to the following:
- Corpus Linguistics and English Language Teaching
- Sociolinguistics of English Language Teaching
- Technology and English Language Teaching
- Teaching English as a second language – action research
- Collaborative teaching and learning Ÿ Mobile Learning
- English for Specific Purposes
- Professional communication in English for law, business, journalism, arts
and humanities
Guidelines for Abstract Submission:
Please submit your proposals to gnayak at jgu.edu.in or srani at jgu.edu.in with the
following details:

- Name
- Title of Proposal
- Abstract of not more than 300 words
- Formatting Font: Times New Roman; Size 12
Selected papers will be published in Scopus journals. Workshops will be
video-recorded and uploaded on youtube.
