Meeting Description:
The conference aims at bringing together young researchers and significant
developments across diverse linguistic fields from syntax to pragmatics and
translation studies. The conference addresses key issues in linguistic theory
while also making connections to other linguistic fields and encouraging the
application of qualitative, quantitative or mixed methodological techniques
and research designs.
Call for Papers:
The 22nd Annual International Conference of the English Department
University of Bucharest, Romania
The English Department of the University of Bucharest will hold its 22nd
Annual Conference from 4 to 6 June, 2020.
Papers are invited in:
Theoretical Linguistics (syntax, morphology, phonology, semantics and the
interfaces)
Language acquisition
Applied Linguistics
Translation studies
This year our invited speakers are:
Susann Fischer (University of Hamburg)
Tabea Ihsane (University of Geneva)
Mark de Vries (University of Groningen)
Presentations will be allocated 25 minutes each, plus 5 minutes for
discussion. Prospective participants are invited to submit anonymous abstracts
in both Pdf and Word formats. Abstracts should not exceed two A4 pages, Times
New Roman 12, single spaced. Information regarding name and institutional
affiliation should be included in the body of the email.

Conference fee: 50 euro or 200 lei
(covering lunches and coffee breaks)
Deadline for proposals: April 1, 2020
A selection of the papers will be published in a collective volume.
