Description:

Les professeurs Jérémie Séror et Guillaume Gentil sont à la recherche d’un
assistant.e pour leur projet « Développer une bilittératie universitaire:
études de cas longitudinales sur l’apprentissage de l’écriture dans les
langues officielles du Canada ». Le projet vise à mieux comprendre comment des
étudiant.e.s étudiants apprennent à écrire des textes universitaires dans les
deux langues officielles du Canada (le français et l’anglais) au cours de
leurs études de premier cycle. 

Responsabilités:
- Gestion des données, préparation des entretiens et analyses des cas
- Analyse et codage des entretiens, menés en anglais et en français, sur les
expériences d’écriture, à l’aide du logiciel Transana
- Analyse et codage du processus d’écriture des étudiants, à partir de vidéos
de capture d’écran, à l’aide du logiciel ELAN
- Analyse de productions écrites anglaises et françaises
- Recherche documentaire, synthèses des écrits et aide à la préparation de
communications et publications de recherche

Profil et qualifications recherchés:
- Excellente maîtrise du français ou de l’anglais lu, parlé et écrit, et
capacités réceptives (lecture et compréhension orale) en anglais et en
français
- Aisance à travailler dans un environnement informatique (Windows de
préférence) et à apprendre de nouveaux logiciels (formations offertes pour les
logiciels spécialisés tels que Transana et ELAN)
- Disponibilité pour travailler à l’Université d’Ottawa, où se situe le local
de recherche, à concurrence de 10 heures par semaine

Professors Jérémie Séror & Guillaume Gentil are looking for a research
assistant for their project "Developing academic biliteracy: Longitudinal case
studies of learning to write in Canada’s official languages". The project aims
to better understand how university students learn to write academic texts in
Canada’s official languages (French & English) over their undergraduate
program of study.

Responsibilities:
- Data management, interview preparation, & case analysis
- Coding & analysis of English & French interviews of participants’ writing
experiences using Transana software
- Coding & analysis of screen capture video recordings of participants’
writing processes using ELAN software
- Analysis of English & French writing samples
- Documentary research, reviews of the literature & assistance in the
preparation of research papers & publications 

Profile & Qualifications:
- Excellent command of French or English (reading, speaking & writing), &
receptive skills (reading & oral comprehension) in English & French
- Ability to work in a digital environment (Windows preferred) & to learn new
software (training offered for specialized software)
- Availability to work at the University of Ottawa, for a maximum of 10 hours
per week
