Description:
Linguistics position (tenure track). Applicants must have a strong background
in theoretical linguistics, broadly defined (syntax, phonology, morphology,
and/or semantics) with a specialization in American Sign Language/English
Interpreting. Applicants with an experimentally informed research program
would be an especially good fit with current faculty. The successful candidate
will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, have an active
research agenda, and participate in graduate student mentoring and student
advisement. Willingness to provide service to the department, university and
the larger professional community are also required.
Demonstrated ability in grant seeking/writing is a plus. The successful
candidate will also be expected to assist in administering our growing
Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics with Concentration in ASL/English
interpreting.

Qualifications:
Earned Ph.D. in Linguistics or related discipline required at the time of
appointment. Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate
and graduate levels and an active research agenda including research in sign
languages and interpreting.
Salary Range: Dependent upon qualifications.
Starting Date: September 1, 2020
