Meeting Description:

The aim of the Progress in Colour Studies 2020 conference is to provide a
forum for discussion of recent and ongoing research and bring scholars from
different disciplines together. Authors are encouraged to consider their own
specialist colour expertise in the broader context of colour at the
intersection of many disciplines. Progress in Colour Studies conference is a
fifth PICS in a row. 

We welcome proposals for papers on colour studies from any area of interest,
including but not limited to the following topics:

- Linguistics, psycholinguistics and colour in languages
- Colour in literature and poetry
- Translation of colour
- Vision, perception, cognition, memory
- Design, fashion
- Architecture, art, history, heritage, culture
- Imaging, computation, analysis, modelling
- Illumination, optics, photography, technology
- Conservation, chemistry, materials, surfaces

Confirmed keynote speakers are:

Asifa Majid (University of York, UK)
Delwin T. Lindsey & Angela M. Brown (Ohio State University, USA)
Galina Paramei (Liverpool Hope University, UK)
Carsten Levisen (Roskilde University, Denmark)

Along with the four keynote lectures, the conference will host oral and poster
presentations.

Call for Papers:

If you would like to contribute to the PICS2020 conference by presenting your
research, we invite you to submit an abstract of 200-300 words (excluding
references and figures). Submissions are welcome from scholars in all relevant
disciplines for individual oral talks, symposia and posters. All abstracts
must be written in English. 

When submitting an abstract, please provide the names and affiliations of all
authors, a title, and an abstract. Leaving this information out might result
in rejection of your abstract. If you are submitting a symposium (3-5 group
talks), you will also need a title for the symposium. Talks will be allocated
25 minutes (20 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions).

Important Dates:

First call for papers: 30 September 2019
Abstract submission deadline: 30 November 2019
Note of acceptance: 20 January 2020
Early bird registration: 21 January until 1 April 2020
Regular registration: 2 April until 5 June 2020
Conference: 17 until 19 June 2020
