Description:
The Department of Linguistics (https://linguistics.ucsc.edu/) at the
University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a
position in phonological theory. We welcome candidates with additional
background in theoretical and/or methodological areas beyond their primary
expertise in phonology.
This position can be made at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure track),
Associate Professor (with tenure) or Full Professor (with tenure).
The successful candidate will contribute to existing strengths in the
Department but will also add to those strengths in new and substantive ways,
and will contribute to the undergraduate and graduate curricula, including the
mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students. We welcome candidates who
understand the barriers facing traditionally underrepresented groups in higher
education, and who have engaged in teaching, research, professional and/or
public service contributions that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in Linguistics or a closely related
field; record of research and teaching.
- It is expected that the degree requirement will be completed by July 1,
2021.
