Description:
The PhonLab (PI: Dr. Kathryn Franich) at the University of Delaware
(https://sites.udel.edu/speech-lab/) is recruiting a student through the PhD
program in Linguistics and Cognitive Science to work as a research assistant
on the NSF-funded project "Speech and Communicative Timing Across Languages
and Linguistic Contexts" (BCS-2018003). Funding in the PhD program (stipend +
tuition) will be guaranteed for four years, up to two of which will take the
form of a research assistantship in the lab (additional funding sources are
available beyond the fourth year in the program). During that time, the
student will be actively involved in ongoing research in the lab, including
data collection, analysis, and writing. In addition, the student will have the
opportunity to conduct fieldwork alongside the PI and the research team in
Cameroon, Central Africa.
