Meeting Description:
Due to the current global pandemic situation, the third edition of the New
Trends in Language Teaching International Conference will be held in virtual
format this year.
This conference has been organized by the University of Granada, the
University of Algarve and the European-funded project PETALL, in collaboration
with the research unit CETAPS, the research group “HUM-457 Didáctica de la
Lengua y la Literatura” and the Department of Didactics of Language and
Literature (UGR).
We are particularly interested in topics such as:
- Integrating Content and Language
- Task development and implementation
- Uses of ICT in Language Teaching and Learning
- Innovation and creativity
- Multicultural education and language teaching
- Foreign Language Teacher Training
- Teacher wellbeing
- Social justice and Foreign Language Teaching
Both synchronous and asynchronous virtual presentations are possible.
Therefore, the authors who participate virtually in the conference have the
option of:
- Uploading a slide show and/or a pre-recorded video of their presentation
onto YouTube (asynchronous presentation) or
- Making their presentation via Zoom or Meet (synchronous presentation)
We aim to promote a reflection on the latest developments in language teaching
and learning, in terms of both research and practice.
Call for Papers:
Types of presentations:
- 20-minute live-streamed presentations (+10 minutes of Q&A)
- Live-streamed panels (60 minutes)
- Pre-recorded short talks (5 minutes). You may simply record yourself
narrating your Powerpoint (or equivalent). You may incorporate a video or
animation.
- Digital posters: You can create your digital poster (with a Mac or a PC)
using PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or any other appropriate program).
All posters must be one page.
- The recommended size is 60 cm tall (24 inches) by 105 cm wide (42 inches).
- The working languages of the Conference are English and Spanish.
Submit a proposal: Send an email to newtrends at ugr.es. Use the template
available on our website.
If your abstract has been accepted, you are encouraged to submit a full-length
paper using the Conference Paper Template available on our website.
Papers will be published in one of the publishing houses listed on our
website. Besides, selected papers will be published in a journal indexed in
ESCI (WoS) or Scopus (an additional fee may be incurred to cover article
processing charges).
IMPORTANT DATES:
29 JAN 2021: Abstract submission deadline
13 FEB 2021: Notification of Acceptance/Rejection
21 MAR 2021: Registration deadline for authors
21 MAR 2021: Final Paper Submission Deadline
16 APR 2021: Submission of pre-recorded presentations
12 MAY 2021: Registration for participants without papers (deadline)
