Subject: Happy 30th Birthday, LINGUIST List!

 
On December 13, 1990, The LINGUIST List was officially born online! Our very
first message went out over the list (see it here:
https://old.linguistlist.org/issues/1/1-0.html) and we never could have
imagined the way LINGUIST would become a world-wide community of academic
linguists and language enthusiasts. No other discipline has anything
comparable to what LINGUIST List has become! 

Just as then, we continue to bring you the very foremost in linguistics news,
publications, and job announcements. This year, our 30th, we rolled out a
newly updated "Programs" function and, most notably, launched our beautiful
new website! As we celebrate this momentous birthday, we remind you that it is
YOU who have made LINGUIST successful. The engagement of linguists around the
world drives us onward and upward. 

As LINGUIST List now enters another decade of dedication, we'd immensely
appreciate if you could join in our birthday bash by giving us a gift of
donation. The LINGUIST List is, and will always be, free of charge to our
readers! Your gifts help ensure that we are able to uphold our mission,
