Description:
The department of Computer Science at Boston College invites applications for
a postdoctoral position in computational linguistics and natural language
processing for the 2020-2021 academic year, with the possibility of renewal
through 2022. The postdoc will work with faculty on one of two
externally-funded projects: (1) computational analysis of pragmatic language
in adults with autism; and (2) speech and language technology for documenting
endangered languages.
Required minimum qualifications:
- PhD or ABD in computer science, computational linguistics, linguistics,
cognitive science, or an allied field
- Previous coursework in machine learning, NLP, data science, or speech signal
processing
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Experience mentoring or supervising undergraduate researchers
- Graduate coursework or research experience in theoretical linguistics,
statistics, psychology, cognitive science, or computer vision.
- Research experience with under-resourced languages
