Call for Papers:

The current edition of the journal Lucero (2019-2020) invites reflection on
Performance and Resistance.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Linguistic accommodation
- Sociolinguistic variation and language contact
- Linguistic navigation of gender (social and grammatical)
- Language maintenance in multilingual regions
- Written and orthographic standardization
- Language attitudes
- Analysis of discourse and of body language
- Linguistic anthropology and applied linguistics

Collaborations are welcome in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Please send submissions for the upcoming issue of Lucero to:
uclucero at berkeley.edu by March 1, 2020.

Submission Guidelines: All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer
review. Therefore please do not include any information regarding the identity
of the author(s). All identifying information should be sent in a separate
document (cover sheet) which will include the title of the submission, the
name of the contributor(s), email address(es) and institutional
affiliation(s).
Mission: In its annual publication, Lucero assimilates works from established
and emergent genres that respond to critical issues. Lucero is housed and
edited by the graduate students of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at
the University of California, Berkeley.
