Description:

We seek to appoint a Lecturer in Speech and Hearing Sciences. The postholder
will contribute to research and teaching in the Department of Speech, Hearing,
and Phonetic Science. We particularly welcome applicants who work at the
interface between hearing and speech perception, and study how these processes
change over the lifespan. This might include (but is not limited to):

* hearing, speech, and language development in the first years of life,
* the interaction of hearing and cognition for speech communication in ageing
populations,
* listening effort,
* speech and hearing in typical and atypical populations,
* hearing impairment and speech perception, and
* speech-in-noise perception across the lifespan

The postholder will be expected to develop an outstanding research profile
that enhances the international standing of the department. In addition to
research, the postholder will be expected to engage in a range of teaching
activities including the development, delivery, assessment and quality
assurance of teaching programmes and modules. The postholder will also
undertake supervision of student research projects, provide pastoral care for
students, and undertake administrative duties in the department.
