Meeting Description:
The First International Conference on Sicilian Dialectology, a major event of
the Festival of Sicilian Dialects 2020, has been conceived as a moment of
knowledge sharing and discussion among scholars interested in the different
domains of the study of the Italo-Romance varieties spoken in Sicily.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts for oral communication or posters on every aspect concerning the
phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and lexicon of Sicilian dialects will
be considered, including those on the varieties spoken outside Sicily, both in
Italy and abroad.
The abstracts must be sent anonymously, in Italian or in English, with a
maximum length of two pages (examples, tables, diagrams and references
included), in Times New Roman, 12-point font size, single spaced. It is
possible to submit a maximum of two abstracts: one as a single author and the
other as a co-author, or a maximum of two abstracts as a co-author.
Each oral presentation will be allotted 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for
questions.
The posters, which will be presented during the dedicated session, must be
printed in A0 format (841mm-1189mm) and must be oriented vertically.
The abstracts must be sent by 15 April 2020 to
festivaldeidialettisiciliani at gmail.com and CC’ed to vincenzo.dicaro at unive.it
Please specify as object “Abstract submission to the International Conference
on Sicilian Dialectology”.
In the e-mail body please indicate:
• the author’s (or authors’) name(s) with their corresponding affiliation into
brackets. In case of joint abstract, please highlight the first author;
• the title of the abstract;
• whether the abstract is intended as an oral presentation or as a poster
(however, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign the proposal
to the poster session).
Moreover, the Scientific Committee will select the best contributions among
oral presentations and posters for publication.
There are no registration fees.
