Lecturer, French - One-year Temporary Position
The Department of World Languages and Literatures at the University of Nevada,
Reno invites applications for a one-year appointment as Lecturer in French.
Position begins July 1, 2020. Responsibilities include teaching 12 units per
semester (24 units per academic year). Primary duties include teaching basic
language, composition and conversation, with ability to teach culture a plus.
Minimum requirements include MA degree in French or equivalent,
native/near-native proficiency in English and French, and evidence of teaching

demonstrate teaching effectiveness in first- and second-year language courses
and three professional reference letters.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Native or near-native proficiency in English and French
- M.A. in French or equivalent degree
- Demonstrated excellence, or clear evidence of potential for excellence, in
teaching first- and second-year university language courses
- Evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching
and/or service Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence, or clear evidence of potential for excellence, in
teaching basic language, composition and conversation, as wells as other
content courses
- Evidence of, or potential for, effective interaction with a diverse range of
students and colleagues, as well as with teachers and administrators in the
