Project Duration: Full-time for 3 month initial contract, with possibility of
extension
Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a cutting-edge speech technology
company. Your work will be focused on helping improve the lexicon and
pronunciation of new content within the system.
Location: United Kingdom or US
Duties Include:
- Phonemic transcription of lexicon entries.
- Classifying and annotating linguistic data.
- Evaluating performance of system and finding methodical ways of improving
pronunciations.
- Evaluating data quality.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in the UK or USA without sponsorship.
- Native-level speaker of American or British English (additional languages a
plus).
- Strong knowledge of English orthography and grammar.
- Experience in phonemic/phonetic transcription (from coursework or other).
- Detailed-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills.
- Obtained or actively pursuing a degree in a language-related field such as
linguistics or translation.
- Keen interest in technology and computer-literate (need to be able to use
in-house tools).
