2020 MICHHERS Michigan Emerging Scholars Program - Linguistics

Focus: The University of Michigan Linguistics Department invites you to apply to the Humanities Emerging Research Scholars (MICHHERS) program <www.rackham.umich.edu/michhers>.

This all expenses paid program will bring talented undergraduate and MA students to Ann Arbor for a 2-week workshop to help you prepare to apply to a PhD in Linguistics, and to give you an overview of the opportunities and resources available for students at the University of Michigan, including Linguistics.  

Selected applicants will receive a $1,000 stipend for their participation in the program.  Round trip travel, lodging, and on-campus meals will also be covered by the program.
Minimum Education Level: No Minimum


Special Qualifications:
We seek rising seniors, bachelor’s degree holders, and M.A. students, particularly those from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in graduate education who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Linguistics.  Application open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents or non-U.S. citizens with DACA.

The application deadline is Friday, February 7, 2020.  See link for

applying.

We seek applicants from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in graduate
education who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Linguistics.  Application

This summer program will take place from June 7 to June 20, 2020.  It will
help participants prepare to apply to a PhD in Linguistics. You  will meet
with our faculty and PhD students about research in linguistics, and will work
on your own research project under the guidance of U-M Linguistics faculty. 
The event will also include a graduate application workshop and gatherings
with faculty and current graduate students from Linguistics and other
disciplines.

Tuition: 0 USD

Tuition Explanation: There are no tuition fees, and you will receive a stipend to participate in
the workshop, in additional to having your travel/lodging covered by the
program.


Financial Aid: Applications accepted until 07-Feb-2020

Financial Aid Instructions:
