Subject: Editorial change journal LLA African Languages and Linguistics

We are pleased to announce an editorial change as of volume 6 (2020). The new
editor-in-chief, taking over from Nicolas Quint (CNRS), of the open-access
journal “Linguistique et Langues Africaines / African Languages and
Linguistics (LLA)” is Yvonne Treis (CNRS). Nicolas Quint will remain a member
of the editorial committee. The other members of the editorial committee are
Gwenaëlle Fabre (U Orléans), Nadine Grimm (U Rochester), Maximilien Guérin
(CNRS), Abbie Hantgan-Sonko (CNRS), Stefano Manfredi (CNRS), Cédric Patin (U
Lille) and Lameen Souag (CNRS).

LLA provides a forum for linguists working in the domains of phonology,
morphology, syntax, pragmatics and semantics of African languages. The main
purpose of LLA is to enlarge our knowledge and understanding of the enormous
linguistic diversity in Africa, much of which is still sparsely documented.
Contributions to LLA are expected to be data-driven (e.g. primary data from
fieldwork or other corpus data), and the discussion of theoretical issues is
appreciated to the extent that it helps to elucidate the data and remains
accessible to persons that are not specialists in the relevant theory. All
major theoretical frameworks are equally welcome. We are also interested in
historical-comparative, areal linguistic and ethno-linguistic contributions.
We publish articles, notes from the field and book reviews in English or
French. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review by external
experts.
