Description:
The University of Konstanz has successfully been part of the
“Exzellenzinitiative und Exzellenzstrategie des Bundes und der Länder“
(excellence initiative and strategy of excellence of the federal and state
governments) since 2007.
LingLab, a consortium of linguistic laboratories (Baby Speech Lab, PhonLab,
Computational Linguistics Lab, Psycholinguistics Lab, and Neurolinguistics
Lab), is a core facility of the University of Konstanz. By means of
behavioural and neurolinguistic methods we investigate human speech
processing.
Your Responsibilities:
- Providing methodological advice for the individual laboratories (choice of
ideal paradigms, choice and creation of stimuli, programming of experiments,
processing of data, support with the statistical analysis of data)
- Supporting the methodological education of doctoral and MA students
- Administration, introduction, and instruction of new student/research
assistants, interns and visiting researchers
- Initiating and managing contacts to organisations that can ease the
acquisition of non-student participant groups
- Technical advice for the planning of third-party funding for individual and
collaborative projects
- Implementation of the data protection regulations and drawing up a statute
Your competencies:
- A PhD in phonetics, linguistics, psycholinguistics, psychology or related
areas
- Experience in planning, programming, and statistically analysing behavioural
experiments
- Experience in planning and programming web-based experiments
- Willingness to transfer methodological knowledge to doctoral students and
visiting researchers
- Willingness to further improve your skills regarding experimental methods
and programs
- A friendly and open demeanour
- Discreet handling of data and information
- Ability to work independently and proactively
