Description:

The Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS) in Berlin invites
applications for doctoral students for 4 years, starting July 2020, pay level
50% TVöD 13. ZAS is not a degree-giving institution; the successful applicant
will have to be in the doctoral program of a university. One of the
supervisors should hold a position at ZAS. The research topic of the
dissertation should fit into one or more of the current research themes at
ZAS:

Domains across Linguistic Modules,
Language Contact,
Language Documentation and Archiving,
Meaning and Cognition,
Multimodality, Movement, Language Production and Perception,
Social Meaning,
Speaker’s Choice and Language Use,
Speech Acts and Perspective.

Applicants should send, in a single pdf file named “doctoral_position_family
name of applicant.pdf”, an application containing
(a) an application letter of maximally two pages expressing the nature and
details of the interest in the position and how it fits to the research
themes, as well as possible supervisors, including one at ZAS;
(b) an academic CV including publications,
(c) scans of the documents indicating academic degrees required for being
admitted to a doctoral program (like bachelor and master degree),
(d) a description of an idea for a dissertation project of maximally three
pages,
(e) a letter of support, ideally by a potential supervisor.

This pdf file should be sent to the web address for applications (below), with
“ZAS Doctoral Position” in the subject line, by April 4, 2020.
