Description:
The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester
invites applications for a 34 months lectureship post in Linguistics, within
the Department of Linguistics and English Language (starting from 1st
September 2020). The successful candidate will have a record of excellence in
theory-driven research and teaching in language acquisition (excluding TESOL
and language pedagogy), and/or sociolinguistics, and/or bi/multi-lingualism.
The successful candidate will be expected to make a strong contribution to the
research strategy of the School by publishing high-quality peer-reviewed
research outputs. They will be expected to contribute to curriculum design and
teaching on the English Language and Linguistics undergraduate programmes and
the Linguistics MA programme by offering modules in the area(s) of language
acquisition, and/or sociolinguistics, and/or bi/multi-lingualism. They will
also be expected to contribute to administrative tasks within the Department
or School, and participate in regular recruitment activities and staff-student
events.
