Meeting Description:
The Graduate Conference has been organized annually since 2015 by Ph.D.
students enrolled in the second year of the Ph.D. in Literary, Linguistic and
Comparative Studies of the University of Naples ''L'Orientale''.
Over the years, the conferences - which take place punctually in October in
the suggestive location of Palazzo Du Mesnil (Naples, Italy)- involving
scholars from universities national and international, and have put
interdisciplinary topics at the center of discussions.
The VI edition of the Graduate Conference, ''The changing city:
representations, metaphors, memory'', has the purpose to offer new graduates,
doctoral students and researchers an opportunity to present research and
structured contributions around the theme of the kaleidoscopic city. The
conference, which will be held in the days 21, 22 and 23 October 2020, also
wants to represent for its participants a moment to weave relationships and
make new contacts.
Second Call for Papers:
Please note that the deadline has been extended to June 15, 2020!
We welcome abstracts in Italian or English addressing the critical categories
of urban space and gravitate around the Kaleidoscopic experience of the city.
We invite the submission of abstracts, which should not exceed 300 words
(excluding the title and essential bibliography) to be submitted by June 15,
2020 in .pdf format, accompanied by a short biographical statement (100 words
max).
Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified whether their contribution will
be oral or poster form.
Talks will have a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
Possible approaches/methodologies: Linguistics, Translation, Literature,
Philology, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities, NLP.
