Short Title: TU+6
Date: 19-Feb-2021 - 20-Feb-2021
Location: University of Toronto, Canada
Contact Person: Andrew Peters
Meeting Email: tu.plus.workshop at gmail.com
Web Site: http://tuworkshop6.linguistic.science/
Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics
Language Family(ies): Turkic
Call Deadline: 09-Nov-2020
Meeting Description:
TU+ is an annual workshop bringing together all aspects of linguistic research
on Turkic languages, as well as languages in contact with Turkic and those
spoken in geographic regions where Turkic languages are spoken. TU+ serves as
a venue for work on a wide variety of languages from well-studied varieties to
underrepresented and under-studied languages without a formal venue of their
own. TU+ is meant to provide an environment for collaboration, and a space to
share ideas big or small.
TU+ 6 will be hosted in 2021 by the University of Toronto Department of
Linguistics, and will take place virtually on February 19-20, 2021.
Invited Speakers:
Balkız Öztürk (Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, İstanbul)
Barış Kabak (Universität Würzburg, Würzburg)
Second Call for Papers:
Due to popular demand, the abstract submission deadline has now been extended
to November 9, 2020. The organizing committee hopes that this additional time
will provide more opportunities for participation in this exciting workshop!
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
- Abstracts should contain original research that, at the time of submission,
has neither been published nor accepted for publication.
- Abstracts may describe either early-stage or mature research projects, and
may -- but need not -- contain a fully worked-out analysis
- Submissions are limited to two abstracts maximum per person: one individual
and one joint abstract, or two joint works
- Abstracts and talks should be submitted and presented in English
- To ensure anonymity, abstracts should not reveal the identity of the
author(s) in any way, and should not contain excessive references to the
author’s publications or acknowledgements to granting agencies or academic
bodies
- Abstracts must be submitted in PDF format. If the abstract contains phonetic
transcriptions or non-ASCII text, please ensure that all fonts are properly
embedded
- Abstracts should not exceed two pages (8.5x11 “letter” or A4) with 1 inch or
2.54cm margins, including all data, figures, tables, and references. The font
size must be at least 12pt.
All papers presented at the conference (both ‘full’ and ‘speed’ talks) will be
invited to submit for a proceedings volume distributed by the Linguistic
Society of America.
As detailed in original the Call for Papers, please submit abstracts online
via the EasyChair site here: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=tu6
The dates of the conference remain unchanged (February 19-20, 2021) and the
organizers will endeavour to return notifications of acceptance by
mid-December.
