related to language learning, language contact, bilingualism, and the links

Job Description:
The Linguistics Program within the Department of Languages & Linguistics at
The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for a Visiting
Assistant Professor of Syntax beginning in Spring 2021. This position is
initially for the Spring semester only, with a possibility for extending
through the Fall ’22 semester for a total of four semesters.
The successful applicant should have an active research agenda in current
topics in theoretical generative syntax, as well as evidence of teaching
success and experience teaching online. Additional expertise in bilingualism
and computational linguistics is also desirable. Since the graduate program
offers a concentration in Hispanic Linguistics, acquaintance with issues in
Hispanic syntax (language acquisition, language variation) is a significant
plus.
The Linguistics Program has active connections with other academic programs
including psychology, speech pathology, and sociology/anthropology.
Linguistics faculty participate in UTEP’s Consortium for Scientific Research
on Bilingualism (https://research.utep.edu/Default.aspx?tabid=75980).
