Meeting Description:
Announcement:
Due to the global COVID-19 situation, the organizers regret to announce that
the 6th Workshop on Sound Change, originally scheduled for July 14-16, 2021,
will be postponed until 2022. We will publicize a new date in Spring 2021.
Original Conference Posting:
Despite the tremendous advance in the field in the past few decades, our
theoretical understanding of sound change has been largely limited to
segmental phenomena. The 6th Workshop on Sound Change (WSC6) will be held at
Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok during July 14-16, 2021 around the theme
of ''Naturalness of Tonal and Prosodic change.'' In addition to oral and
poster presentations, WCS6 will feature a series of half and full-day
satellite workshops on July 13, 2021.
WSC6 is organized by the Department of Linguistics, and the Southeast Asian
Linguistics Research Unit, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University in
collaboration with ''The Emergence and Evolution of Linguistic Tone'' project
(funded by the European Research Commission).
