Description:
Dr. Daniel Altshuler at the University of Oxford is hiring a postdoc to work
on a project that aims to compare the role that event structure plays in the
interpretation of a sentence vs. a discourse. This post is fixed-term (1 year)
funded by OUP’s John Fell Fund. The appointee will take up their post on 1st
October, 2021 and will be based at the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and
Phonetics at the Clarendon Institute, Walton Street, Oxford, OX1 2HG.
The appointee will be required to have a Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related
field such as but not limited to Philosophy (with a focus on language),
(experimental/cognitive) Psychology, Psycholinguistics or Neurolinguistics
(with a focus on language); a demonstrated interest in studying event
structure at the linguistic interfaces; and some experience in experimental
design, running subjects and statistical analysis.
