Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University invites applications
for a one-year Assistant Teaching Professor position in Discourse Analysis,
beginning August 1, 2021. 

We seek candidates who have a record of excellence in research and teaching.
The responsibilities of the position include teaching a 3-3 load, with courses
at both the graduate and undergraduate level. The successful candidate will be
able to teach courses in such areas as Discourse and Identity, Language and
Health/Medicine, Language and Politics, Institutional Discourse, Multimodal
Interaction, Ethnography of Communication, Cross-Cultural Communication, and
Cross-Disciplinary Discourse Analysis, as well as a doctoral seminar in the
applicant’s area of specialization. Applicants must have completed all
requirements for the PhD degree by the time of the appointment.
