Description:
The successful applicant will have a strong background in linguistic theory
and historical linguistics and specialization in two branches of older
Indo-European. The applicant will be required to teach courses in
Indo-European and Historical Linguistics in a theoretically-informed manner.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics by contract start date and proven
excellence in teaching in the relevant areas. Applicants who have a Ph.D. in
Indo-European or a related field will be considered as well. Experience with
online/remote instruction is a significant asset. This position is subject to
budgetary approval and need, and is full-time, normally at the rank of
Lecturer or Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2021 and ending May 14,
2022. Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be granted a
subsequent appointment, given continued funding and need, as well as
satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent
appointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years.
