Description:

Exos Financial is looking for a linguist with a background in law or with some
exposure to legal contracts.  The role has responsibilities for two broad
areas: assistance in formulation of annotation standards for legal contracts
and performance of annotation according to those standards, and the
creation/curation of a syntactically annotated dataset.  

Job responsibilities:
- Apply legal knowledge to develop standards and guidelines for particular
contract provisions
- Perform annotation and supervise progress on annotation projects
- Correct machine and human-generated syntactic representations of English
sentences
- Curate a syntactic dataset

Necessary skills:
- Previous annotation experience
- BA minimum, MA preferred, in Linguistics with an emphasis on syntax and
semantics
- Experience working with legal contracts (education or work experience)
- Native/near-native English

Nice to have:
- Experience with syntactic annotation, particularly dependency grammar
- Experience curating datasets
- Legal knowledge in other major languages (particularly French, German or
Japanese)
