An Online International Conference.
Hosted by: Multilingualism Research Centre, Faculty of Medicine, Health &
Human Sciences, Macquarie University.
In a culturally and linguistically diverse world in which languages are as
mobile as people, goods and information, how multicultural societies
understand and respond to the value of languages is a key question. The aim of
this international online conference is to address this question at multiple
levels of policy and practice.

Indigenous languages
Multilingualism, technologies and literacies in education
Learning and using English in a multilingual society
Multilingualism in social and professional life
Geographies of multilingualism
Media, popular culture and communications

Call for Papers:
Abstracts are invited for individual presentations and symposia that address
issues of multiculturalism and multilingualism. They may fall into one of the
following streams or be on any other topic relevant to the conference theme of
multilingualism.

Multilingualism, technologies and literacies in education
Learning and using English in a multilingual society
Multilingualism in social and professional life
Geographies of multilingualism
Media, popular culture and communications
Abstract deadline: 27 August 2021
Abstract submissions are invited for:
Individual presentations (30 minute slot: 20 minute presentation + 10 minutes
Q&A)
60 minute symposia (flexible timing, minimum 2 presenters)
90 minute symposia (flexible timing, minimum 3 presenters)
120 minute symposia (flexible timing, minimum 4 presenters)
Co-presenters are expected to attend the conference and participate in the
presentation.
