Meeting Description:

The Sociolinguistics Circle consists of a group of sociolinguists representing
most – if not all – universities in the Netherlands and Flanders. Its main
objective is to organize an annual one-day conference that aims at bringing
together students and researchers with a connection to the Low Countries who
study language variation, sociolinguistics and social dynamics of language.
Particular emphasis is put on participation by students and other young
researchers: the conference is open to researchers of all levels

On 1 April 2022 KU Leuven hosts the new edition of Sociolinguistics Circle.


Call for Papers:

This year we host two plenary speakers, Anne-Sophie Ghyselen and Khalid
Mourigh. Additionally, we welcome abstracts for paper and poster
presentations. Abstracts should deal with topics in variationist linguistics,
sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, dialectology, or related
disciplines. You can submit your abstract by e-mail
(sociolinguisticscircle2022 at kuleuven.be; before 15 January 2022).
