Subject Language(s): Chinese, Mandarin (cmn)
Meeting Description:
CASLAR (Chinese as a Second Language Research) is a biennial conference with
the goal to bring together scholars from all over the world whose research
focuses on the acquisition, development and use of Chinese as a second
language to survey available knowledge in the field, exchange ideas and
initiate research projects. The conference is a part of the CASLAR movement
that aims to transform a field from a primarily experienced-and practice-based
discipline into a discipline based on and supported by research and theory.
CASLAR’s journal Chinese as a Second Language Research (published by De
Gruyter Mouton; Berlin/New York), also fulfills CASLAR’s organizational
mission by providing a platform for the dissemination of research findings
from scholars all over the world.
The 6th International Conference on Chinese as a Second Language Research
(CASLAR-6), co-hosted by The George Washington University (Washington D.C.,
USA) and the Chinese as Second Language Research Association (CASLAR), will be
held online from July 30-August 1, 2021.
If your abstract has been selected for inclusion in this year’s conference
(i.e., if you have received an Acceptance Letter from the CASLAR-6 Organizing
Committee, which contains your unique 3-digit submission ID number), please
complete your registration no later than June 15, 2021. If you do not register
by the June 15 deadline, your presentation will not be included in the
conference’s program.
The Organizing Committee will send out a conference program as well as other
need-to-know conference information to all registered attendees sometime after
the June 15 early bird registration deadline has passed.
Even if you did not submit an abstract to present a session, we welcome you to
participate in the CASLAR-6 conference, to learn from and exchange ideas with
teachers, researchers, and other colleagues who will be joining us from all
over the world!
