Description:
Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a temporary,
full time instructor in the Modern Languages and Cultures Department to teach
graduate-level applied linguistics/TESOL courses and coordinate the Graduate
TESOL Program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in English linguistics, applied linguistics/TESOL, or related area in
hand at time of application.
- Prior experience in distance education.
- Coursework in linguistics at the advanced undergraduate or graduate level.
We seek the following qualities in the successful candidate:
- Commitment to diversity, engagement in the profession, evidence of scholarly
growth, enthusiasm for teaching, interest in innovative language learning
technology.
- Successful completion of a synchronous video-conference interview, including
a teaching demonstration that must exemplify excellent pedagogical skills
appropriate for graduate level instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching upper-division or graduate-level applied
linguistics/TESOL courses.
- Prior experience in TESOL program administration.
- Certification in distance education.
- Prior experience in synchronous and asynchronous graduate-level distance
education.
- Prior experience in TESOL student recruitment.
