Applications are invited for the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Postdoctoral
Fellowship in Iranian Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics at UCLA.
The fellowship will have an initial term of one year, with up to two
additional years possible. The preferred start date is January 2, 2022.
The selected candidate will conduct research in Iranian Linguistics and will
teach two undergraduate courses per year in the Department of Linguistics at
UCLA. The list of UCLA Linguistics undergraduate courses can be found at

Applicant Qualifications: Scholars with teaching and publication experience
are welcome to apply for the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Postdoctoral Fellowship
in Iranian Linguistics. Applications will be accepted from individuals who
have received a Ph.D. in Iranian Languages and Linguistics and related fields
within the last ten years, or by the time of their appointment. Applicants
shall also have knowledge of the Persian language and Iranian Linguistics.
Application Requirements:
The applications must include:
- A current resume/curriculum vitae;
- A list of publications;
- A research plan;
- Three reference letters from scholars in fields related to the proposed
research;
- Identification of faculty members in the Department of Linguistics
supporting the research plan;
- Sample (in English) of recent written work; and
- Documents attesting to teaching abilities, such as sets of course
evaluations and/or recommendation letters specific to teaching
