The Writing Center at Oregon State University (OSU) is pleased to announce its
search for a Writing Center Coordinator for Multilingual Support. Below,

Dean of Students within Student Affairs.

Department Overview:
Essential functions of the Writing Center include providing 50-minute research
and writing consultations, 25-minute grammar consultations, and written
feedback via the Online Writing Suite. The Writing Center also provides
workshops, engages in faculty consultations, and collaborates with campus
partners across the university.

Position Overview:
The Writing Center is seeking a Writing Center Coordinator for Multilingual
Support. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, fixed term professional
faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director. 

The Writing Center Coordinator provides leadership for the Writing Center’s
multilingual support services and programming. Services include
peer-facilitated writing support for multilingual and multi-dialect students.
The coordinator collaborates with Writing Center Senior Staff around training
needs and ongoing professional development for student staff. The Coordinator
also identifies undergraduate student needs around language development and
Academic English and develops programs, services, and resources in response to
student needs. This work involves consultation, collaboration, and strategic
partnerships with the OSU community. 

Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in TESOL, Linguistics, Rhetoric and Composition, English, or
related field 
- Two years’ experience providing language and writing support for
multilingual students 
- Experience working in a writing center or peer education setting 
- Experience working with diverse student populations 
- Experience designing training or course curriculum and delivering content
using facilitative pedagogy 
- Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position;
therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check
and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et
seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth
Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
