Intensive Remote School (IRS) in Theoretical linguistics
Host Institution: University of Padua
Coordinating Institution: University of Padua
Website: https://intensive-remote-school.it/index.php
Dates: 24-Jan-2022 - 29-Jan-2022
Location: Padoa, Veneto, Italy
Focus: The IRS offers the most recent perspectives on phonology, syntax and semantics within a generative framework, in a remote format. Sixteen scholars will offer lectures (1 ½ hours each) where they will address the most recent results of their research.
Instead of conventional mini-courses, in our conception the learning experience will emerge from the collaborative enterprise of different scholars confronting a cluster of related topics. The schedule can be found here: https://intensive-remote-school.it/index.php/program
Minimum Education Level: MA
Special Qualifications:
The IRS is addressed to Ph.D. and qualified MA students.
Description:
The Intensive Remote School (IRS) in Theoretical linguistics will take place
(remotely as an online event) from January 24 to January 29, 2022.
Meeting description
The IRS offers the most recent perspectives on phonology, syntax and semantics
within a generative framework, in a remote format. It is addressed to Ph.D.
and qualified MA students.
This proposal stems from the experience of more than one year of Linguistic
Flash-Mobs (https://linguisticaunipd.blogspot.com) and has three main sets of
goals:
- Theoretical: stabilizing terminology, comparing theories and highlighting
crucial empirical issues.
- Networking: strengthening the sense of a shared scientific enterprise.
- Technological: exploiting the new facilities created by remote gathering.
Sixteen scholars will offer lectures (1 ½ hours each) where they will address
the most recent results of their research.
Instead of conventional mini-courses, in our conception the learning
experience will emerge from the collaborative enterprise of different scholars
confronting a cluster of related topics.
More information about the school can be found here:
https://intensive-remote-school.it/index.php
In particular, the schedule can be found here:
https://intensive-remote-school.it/index.php/program
All the activities will take place in English. The course is free of charge.
A syllabus for each set of lectures will be made available to the enrolled
participants by mid-January 2022.
