Meeting Description:

The dynamism of the modern world has pushed the boundary of accents beyond the
confines of phonetics and phonology. Accent-related issues now cut across all
spheres of human and non-human endeavours. Within the human space, the
features of accents are readily found in various domains of language use
(e.g., religion, politics, media, movies, teaching, commerce, advertising,
music, entertainment, etc.) and in diverse geographical locations (e.g.
national, regional or ethnic varieties). In non-humans, such as machines,
advances in the field of Artificial Intelligence have produced various
automation systems, such as voice automation (e.g. answering machine, voice
mail, voice biomatics, etc.) and voice recognition systems with applications
in telephony, car system, access control system, teaching, google assistant in
smart android phones, etc.). In all these human and non-human domains,
accentuation of words is key to successful communication, interaction and
transaction. It is this wide-ranging nature of accents and its implications
that shape the focus of this conference. The goal of the conference,
therefore, is to interrogate current trends and innovations in the features of
accents in various spheres and walks of life. It is hoped that the robust
presentations and discussions at the conference will illuminate these
perspectives.

Abstract of not more than 250 words should be submitted to
appnrun2022 at run.edu.ng. The abstract should be in Times New Roman, font 12 and
should include the title of research, goals & methods. The name and
affiliation of the author should be written under the title. The deadline for
abstract submission is January 31, 2022.

Conference Registration Details:

Conference Registration Fee: N20,000 
Students: N10,000 
International participants: $100 dollars
Early bird Registration Fee: N17, 000 
Early bird opens immediately and closes on 31 Dec, 2021.
