Meeting Description:
On 2–3 June 2022, an international conference on Minor Finnic Languages will
be held in Uppsala, Sweden. The purpose of this conference is to give
researchers working on minor Finnic languages the opportunity to present
current research, participate in formal and informal discussions on relevant
topics, and explore potential opportunities for collaborative work.
The keynote speeches will be given by Riho Grünthal (Helsinki) and Valt
Ernštreit (Riga) and address the topic of the typology of Finnic (Grünthal)
and the revitalization of Livonian (Ernštreit).
The conference languages are English, Estonian and Finnish.
The conference will take place online if the pandemic situation requires it.

Call for Papers:
Papers related to all aspects of minor Finnic languages and linguistics are
welcome; we are not expecting papers on standard Estonian or standard Finnish.
Please submit an anonymous, one-page abstract - in PDF format only - in one of
the conference languages via EasyChair https://easychair.org/cfp/MFL1 by 15
March 2022. Notification to authors: 04 April 2022.
We especially encourage junior researchers to present their work.
Peer-reviewed conference presentations will be published in the Studia Uralica
Upsaliensia series.
