Call for Proposals:
Special Issue of Studies in Second Language Acquisition, July 2023
Studies in Second Language Acquisition (SSLA) is now entertaining proposals
for the thematic issue of Volume 45:3, to be published in July 2023. Thematic
issues of SSLA focus on areas of current interest and are an excellent venue
to bring together in one issue numerous approaches to a problem or methodology
in the field of SLA. For examples, see previous special issues of SSLA.
A proposal should include a rationale (two pages plus references) for the
thematic issue and abstracts (250-300 words) from the authors of the
manuscripts that the editor intends or expects to include. Note that the
articles in a special issue can belong to any of the article types published
in SSLA. These include: Research article, Critical Commentary, Research
Report, Replication Studies, Methods Forum, and State-of-the-Scholarship
Review.
Proposal submissions are due by email to ssla.journal at gmail.com by January 14,
2022. Other manuscript and production deadlines are as follows:
- January 14, 2022: Proposals due in SSLA office
- February 11, 2022: Final decision reached
- May 13, 2022: Submission of first-draft manuscripts to SSLA via ScholarOne
- January 20, 2023: All final manuscripts due, submitted via ScholarOne
Please feel free to distribute this announcement to interested colleagues. If
any other questions arise, please feel free to contact us at
