Description:

The University of Oxford intends to appoint to the Professorship of
Linguistics with effect from 1 October 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
This post is a statutory professorship, equivalent to a distinguished chair.
We are seeking a scholar of the highest international calibre, with an
outstanding record of research in any field of Linguistics and a track record
of engagement with other scholars across the discipline. The Professor of
Linguistics will play a vital leadership role in teaching and research, as
well as shaping the long-term strategic direction of the Faculty. The
Professor will play a major role in the supervision, guidance and examination
of graduate students in Linguistics, and should be able to contribute broadly
to undergraduate and graduate teaching and examination and be willing to take
on leading roles in the faculty-wide administration.
