Linguistic Field(s): Anthropological Linguistics; Historical Linguistics; Neurolinguistics
Call Deadline: 15-Jul-2022
Meeting Description:
The workshop will be held in the context of the Joint Conference on Language
Evolution. Its goal is to revisit recent work on language and action from a
neurobiological as well as theoretical perspective and try to find a consensus
across practitioners in the field with regard to definitions of key concepts
but also the interpretation of empirical work.
In this workshop, we will seek to re-examine the similarities and differences
between language and action on theoretical and neurobiological grounds by
bringing together current perspectives from action, language, and sign
language processing, as well as from comparative neuroanatomy.
Part of the time for our workshop will be dedicated to an e-poster session,
that is short talks (3-5 minutes). E-posters aim to showcase the work of
junior researchers or work in progress. Talks can be given either online or in
presence, depending on each speaker's preference.
We encourage submissions of theoretical and experimental work (both completed
and ongoing studies). Discussion of pilot data is also welcome.
Abstracts are limited to 2500 characters (spaces included), excluding title,
authors and affiliations. It is not mandatory to include references. Each
author can appear as first author on one poster only. The submission system
does not allow figures in abstracts.
Abstracts should include the following sections: Introduction, Methods,
Results, and Conclusion or Summary. The sections do not need to be labeled. It
is, however, important that each abstract contains sufficiently detailed
information.
