Description:
The Department of Linguistics at the University of Maryland seeks to hire a
lecturer to teach several (3-4) undergraduate and graduate courses in syntax
and potentially general intro linguistics in the academic year 2022-2023. The
position starts July 30, 2022 and classes start August 29.
A Master’s or PhD degree in Linguistics or another relevant field is required
prior to the position start date of July 30; preference will be given to
candidates holding the PhD. The ideal candidate will specialize in any area of
syntax, will have teaching experience and show evidence of being an effective
instructor, and will be prepared to teach at least second semester syntax, as
well as a seminar on their research, both at the undergraduate and graduate
level.
