Job Title: External Senior Fellowships
Job Rank: Visiting Professor
Specialty Areas: Computational Linguistics; General Linguistics; Language Acquisition
Description:
The University of Konstanz is one of eleven Universities of Excellence in
Germany. Since 2007 it has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative
and its follow-up program, the Excellence Strategy. The Cluster “The Politics
of Inequality” includes researchers from political science, sociology,
economics, linguistics, psychology, law, and education studies. They study how
people perceive these inequalities, how they lead to collective mobilization,
and how political actors respond to them.
The Cluster is calling for applications for External Senior Fellowships
2022/2023.
Available Funding:
Fellowship is available for a duration of 2 to 6 months per selected Fellow
during the academic year 2022/23. The earliest starting date is 1 September
2022, the latest end date 30 September 2023. Remuneration will take the form
of a monthly flat rate of 6,000 Euros to account for accommodation and living
expenses, as well as a further monthly research allowance to finance
conference travels and research assistants as well as other aspects of Senior
Fellows’ research projects. Relocation expenses to and from Konstanz will be
covered by the Cluster (some limitations apply).
Eligibility criteria:
Applications are open to researchers from outside the University of Konstanz
with an established track record and international visibility, as well as a
keen interest in the Cluster’s concepts and lines of research. We are looking
for scholars with an established track record in inequality research broadly
defined, and in the fields directly related to the Cluster’s research agenda,
though not necessarily in disciplines already represented at the Cluster.
Senior Fellows will actively participate in Cluster activities.
Application Process:
To apply, please submit the following documents:
- The application form with the summary of project data is provided in the
project package part of this Call on our application site.
- A research proposal that contributes to the research agenda of the Cluster,
investigating core aspects of the political dimension of inequality. It should
not exceed four pages in length, and should also include the duration and the
schedule of the project. Please describe work packages that might be relevant
for the use of the research allowance at your disposal.
- Curriculum vitae and a list of publications.
Please submit your application consisting of the application form, research
proposal, CV, and list of publications via our Online Application Portal from
the Call opening date on 1 February 2022.
