Summary: NFLC seeks a professional to play a key role in the direction and
management of the Center. This position will direct and oversee the NFLC’s
performance on all product development. Direct and oversee five of the NFLC’s
functional units and participate in the Center’s strategic planning.
Duties:
Product Development: Direct and oversee NFLC performance on all product
development grants and contracts. Primary responsibilities include ensuring
that project managers effectively plan project cycles, hire and manage
qualified subject matter experts, and deliver high-quality products that meet
all client specifications on time and on budget.
Oversight: Direct and oversee the performance of one or more of the Center’s
functional units. Responsibilities include hiring, supervising, managing, and
evaluating the performance of these units as well as improving business
processes and anticipating future resource needs for any upcoming projects.
Leadership: Participate in Center leadership by serving on the Center’s
Executive Committee, which collaboratively governs the Center.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 5 years’ of experience in one or more aspects of product
development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in education, second language acquisition, or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience managing complex projects preferred, particularly product
development projects
- Experience creating and managing budgets
- Strong non-specialist understanding of one or more key disciplines, such as
project management, second language acquisition, world language education,
instructional design, web applications development, or art & media production
- Experience in foreign language instruction, assessment, or curriculum
development
