Graduate conference for students in French. Please see call below. The
conference is free and virtual!
Call for Papers:
The French & Italian Department at the University of Arizona is delighted to
organize the 3rd edition of its graduate conference to which all MA and
doctoral students in French are invited to participate so that they may
virtually attend two plenaries (Dr. Hamel and Dr. Jean-Charles), give a talk
and participate in live round-tables with fellow students and professors.
This conference mirrors our MA programmes. We thus look forward to receiving
abstracts addressing one or more of the following strands:
- theoretical and applied linguistics
- first, second language acquisition
- teaching French as a second/foreign language
- digital technologies and pedagogy
- French and Francophone literature, culture and civilization
- French and Francophone cinema
- Women's studies, queer studies and sexuality
- French/Francophone art, art history
- Le français inclusif, le français neutre
Format: The pre-recorded Powerpoint presentations of accepted submissions will
be available from March 14 to March 26. Then, on March 26, participants will
be able to attend two plenaries followed by an interactive session with the
speakers as well as participate in live roundtables with other presenters and
participants around the conference strands.
Confirmed plenary speakers are Dr. Marie-José Hamel (Tâches en ligne,
construction identitaire et citoyenneté numérique en L2) and Dr. Régine
Michelle Jean-Charles (Spirit, land and sea: a environmental ethic in Haitian
feminist writing)
